Robin’s relationship with the man she called her soulmate, had been slowly disintegrating. Now he was done and wanted her to move out of his house, but she desperately wanted their connection back. Her once intimate fun-loving relationship of 18-years that was full of laughter and a lot of love, was no more. She was in a state of emotional turmoil, feeling hopeless, exhausted, and defeated.
After having gone through months, if not years of too much conflict, relentless arguing, overusing alcohol, loss of shared interest, lack of romantic intimacy and love, she was distraught, and broken-hearted. She wanted save her relationship and rekindle what they once had but was at a loss as to what to do next. We began working together.
Applying the principals I was teaching her, in the face of his negativity, she was stubbornly positive and in the face of his meanness, she was kind. She owned her own stuff and started growing in her relationship with herself, regaining her sense of value.
Things improved as she persisted, and they began actively working on their relationship together. They became a team against the things that were working against them, both from within and outside of their relationship.
Two years after he told he wanted her out, as they watched the sun rise from the top of Mt. Washington, he asked her to marry him - after being together for twenty years!
